Cardiovascular magnetic resonance myocardial feature tracking predicts severity of wall motion abnormalities following acute coronary syndromes

چکیده
Background Left ventricular wall motion assessment following acute myocardial infarction (AMI) allows prediction of functional recovery. Current methods are based upon visual assessment, with inherent operator variability. CMR myocardial feature tracking (CMR-FT) is a recently introduced technique for tissue voxel motion tracking on standard steady-state free precession (SSFP) images to derive circumferential and radial myocardial mechanics. We sought to determine whether CMR-FT could be used as a quantitative measure of wall motion assessment and predict recovery in function following AMI.

Value of strain analysis with feature tracking in dobutamine stress cardiac magnetic resonance imaging for detecting coronary artery disease
Background Dobutamine stress magnetic resonance (DSMR) has been established for the detection of coronary artery disease (CAD) due to its high diagnostic accuracy and prognostic value. The novel technique feature tracking (FT) analyses regional myocardial strain and thereby offers detailed information about myocardial deformation. The purpose of this study was to examine how FT based circumfere...
متن کاملAcute myocarditis with normal wall motion detected with 2D speckle tracking echocardiography
UNLABELLED SummaryWe present the case of a 26-year-old male with acute tonsillitis who was referred for coronary angiography because of chest pain, elevated cardiac biomarkers, and biphasic T waves. The patient had no cardiovascular risk factors. Echocardiography showed no wall motion abnormalities and no pericardial effusion. 2D speckle tracking revealed distinct decreased regional peak longit...
متن کاملRelationship between Late Gadolinium Enhancement Extent in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Severity of Coronary Artery Disease in Old Myocardial Infarction
Purpose: To assess the relationship between the severity of coronary arteries involvement and the extent and pattern of myocardial scars in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance of patients with history of remote myocardial infarction. Materials and Methods: The Cardiac Magnetic Resonance images of sixty patients with history of remote ST segment or non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction were ...
متن کاملExtent of wall motion abnormalities with cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging overestimates the degree of coronary artery disease in patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy
Background Patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy (CMP) often develop regional wall motion abnormalities (WMA) due to myocardial scarring, stunning or hibernation. Abnormal functioning myocardial segments without evidence of fibrosis on late gadolinium-enhancement cardiac magnetic resonance (LGE-CMR) are felt to represent stunned or hibernating myocardium, presumably with significant coronary ar...
متن کاملLate improvement of regional wall motion after the subacute phase of myocardial infarction treated by acute PTCA in a 6-month follow-up.
BACKGROUND The aim of this follow-up study was to investigate the late effects of acute coronary angioplasty (PTCA) on regional wall motion after the subacute phase of myocardial infarction (MI). METHODS AND RESULTS Seventeen patients were investigated initially at a median of 11 days and again at 6 months after acute PTCA for myocardial infarction (< 8 hours after onset of symptoms) by cardi...
